and gates are just the beginning—join University Museums staff as
we explore the artistic legacy of Albert Paley. We’ll share new
information about this multi-dimensional artist including
biographical information, a closer look at Paley’s jewelry and
craft designs, and an overview of his site-specific works of art.

Specific Art Installations
An
important concept in Iowa State’s public art collection and in
Albert Paley’s public commissions is site-specificity. Carl
Rogers, assistant professor in ISU’s Landscape Architecture
program, will discuss the impact and implication of such art on the
landscape and people of the Midwest.

Documentary
– Albert Paley: In Search of the Sentinel
This
is a one-hour documentary produced in 2007 that details the creation
of Paley’s large scale, site-specific public sculpture Sentinel,
as well as recent projects.

Muench, associate professor in Art and Design, will lead guests on a
tour through the Brunnier Art Museum’s exhibition of Albert
