Collections

Although an appreciation for the arts has been around since the early years of the original Iowa State College, University Museums did not open its doors until the completion of the Brunnier Gallery in 1975. Beginning with the generous donations from alumnus Henry Brunnier and his wife Ann, a collection of over 30,000 objects currently makes up Iowa State University Museums. The collection ranges from modern to ancient art, and includes a variety of different artists and styles.

The following images within each category are only a small selection of the University Museums collection. Although we do not have all of our permanent collection on display, please visit the museum galleries to see a better sampling of our collection, current on-loan exhibitions, and learn more about the history of Iowa State University Museums.
