50th Anniversary

Iowa State University’s unique University Museums will celebrate 50 years in 2024-2025! This milestone highlights University Museums’ experiences which continue to be mission-based, have educational value, and further ISU’s strategic plan. The 50th anniversary will showcase the Brunnier Art Museum, Farm House Museum, Christian Petersen Art Museum, Anderson Sculpture Garden, and the expansive Art on Campus Collection and Program. Through exhibitions, events, publications, research, conservation, restoration, art acquisitions and educational enrichment, University Museums will feature it’s legacy of cultural innovation since 1975.

University Museums’ 50-year Video Release Party

Join Duane Reeves, assistant vice president for Auxiliary Enterprise, and University Museums staff to kick off the 50th anniversary with a live watch party of the 50-year video documentary. Watch in person at the Brunnier Art Museum or join virtually on YouTube and Facebook live to help us celebrate and commemorate this milestone in our story.

Look up! The Farm House Museum recently underwent a roof replacement and exterior painting to receive a historically accurate “glow up” before celebrating 50 years of being a public museum. Join the consulting preservation architect and the curator for an insightful look at the project.
