Manuel Neri: Matters of Form and Construction was published in 2017 in conjunction with the exhibition Manuel Neri: The Modernist Figure, organized by the Clarinda Carnegie Art Museum, Iowa, June 18-December 3, 2017; and the exhibition Manuel Neri: Ambiguity, Mystery and Allure organized by the Christian Petersen Art Museum, Iowa State University, Ames, January 8-May 18, 2018. The 130 page publication includes a preface by Karen and Robert Duncan, essay by Bruce Nixon, Directors’ Forwards, illustrated exhibition checklists, artist’s biography, and over 150 color photographs. The publication spans six decades of Manuel Neri’s sculpting career. In 2006 Neri received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Sculpture Center. This publication documents the recent gift of 32 sculptures and drawings from the Manuel Neri Trust to Iowa State’s University Museums’ Permanent Collection.
