Location:
Brunnier Art Museum, 295 Scheman Bldg.
Joe Patrick’s paintings and drawings, while very different in their execution, both examine a transient sense of impermanence. His paintings of the ramshackle constructions found in the Oaxaca, Mexico marketplaces depict structures that exude a sense of the temporary, yet exist to cover and protect the goods and humans below. His drawings are portraits of friends and colleagues and observe a moment in time, which are also temporary, to be replaced by the next emotion and moment. Join the artist in a gallery walk where he will discuss the impermanence and the parallels found in his paintings and drawings on exhibition in the Brunnier Art Museum.
