Jack Trice is a well-known campus name. Breaking Barriers was commissioned by Iowa State University to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Trice’s death on October 6, 1923. Breaking Barriers was installed in the Albaugh Family Plaza, ISU Sports Complex in October 2022 to begin a year-long campus commemoration of Jack Trice.
This program will explore the recent sculpture by public artist Ivan Toth Depeña that honors, commemorates and memorializes Trice's campus legacy as expressed through the power of art.
