Education Kits are developed as a resource for Iowa teachers, offering easy to use and interactive activities within the contents of a box. All necessary artifacts and lesson plans are included inside the kit. The overall goal of the Education Kits are to help create an educational and engaging experience for students in Iowa, especially when a trip to the museum in person may not be an option.
The Farm House Education Kit is designed to bring the Farm House Museum into the classroom through a series of fun hands-on activities. Education Kits include curriculum plans, worksheets, artifacts, reflections and games that make up the different activity sets. The Farm House Education Kit includes four activity sets: Analyzing Artifacts, Victorian Penmanship, Quilting and Toys & Games. The Farm House Education Kit also aligns with Iowa Core Social Studies Standards for 3rd through 5th grade classrooms, but are adjustable to suit varying grade levels as well. Activity sets and curriculum plans are completely customizable to fit each teacher's individual classroom schedule and needs.
