Renovation to the office space was not part of the original plan, however changes to building code from the building's original construction in 1975 required the addition of an emergency egress on the north side of the Brunnier Art Museum. The required egress eliminated a large portion of the current office space and a new configuration was needed. In addition, a new design will allow better use of the space and the current staffing needs.
This space will house the Director, Collection Manager, Assistant Curator, Administrative Staff and Communications Specialist. The reconfiguration also allows work areas for UM interns and a dedicated space for meetings and conferences. The Education Staff will still be housed at the Christian Petersen Art Museum in Morrill Hall and oversee the daily needs at the Brunnier Art Museum.
