One of the artists in the current Full Steam Ahead exhibition is Kimberly Moss; she is also an assistant professor in the Department of Art and Visual Culture in the College of Design. She is also the coordinator of the Biological/Pre-medical Illustration Program. Her artwork brings together her science background with her artistic visions.
Moss created one of the signature works of art in the exhibition titled Response to Stimulus. The glass illumination depicts the hippocampus of the human brain, visualizing the physical link between cognition and emotion states. Originally part of a 3-piece series, its purpose is to offer an alternative format to traditional medical visuals.
