New additions to the Scheman Building

Five paintings have recently been installed in various spots in the Scheman Building, which is also home to the Brunnier Art Museum. Four paintings are by local Ames artist and retired ISU professor of architecture Marion J Kitzman and one painting is by Iowa artist Ulfert Wilke, founding director of the Stanley Museum of Art, University of Iowa.

"These paintings were specifically selected because they are period-appropriate to the Scheman Building, which was opened in the 1970s," said Lynette Pohlman, University Museums Director and Chief Curator. "We hope these bold and colorful additions will create a more artful space and enhance the connection to the Brunnier Art Museum."
